    What is home physiotherapy?

Home physiotherapy – sometimes called mobile physiotherapy or a physio home visit – is exactly what it sounds like: a qualified physiotherapist comes to your home to assess and treat you, rather than you travelling to a clinic.

For many people, this isn’t just more convenient – it’s the only practical option. When you’re in pain, recovering from surgery, managing a neurological condition, or caring for an elderly relative, a trip to a clinic can be exhausting, painful, or simply impossible. Home visits remove that barrier entirely.

At UkHomePhysio, every home visit is carried out by an HCPC-registered physiotherapist who brings the same expertise and standards you’d expect from any leading private clinic – but in the environment where you’re most comfortable and most likely to recover well. Sessions are one-to-one, unhurried, and tailored entirely to your needs. There are no waiting rooms, no parking problems, and no appointments that don’t fit your life.

    Why choose physiotherapy at home?

Home physiotherapy isn’t just a convenient option – for many people, it’s a clinically better one. Here’s why.

    You recover better at home

Research consistently shows that patients who receive physiotherapy in their own environment make faster, more sustainable progress. Familiar surroundings reduce anxiety and allow your physio to see exactly how your condition affects your daily life.

    No painful journeys

When you're in pain or limited in your mobility, travelling to a clinic adds unnecessary stress, cost, and discomfort. With a home visit, the only journey is ours - we come to you.

    One-to-one, unhurried care

Every session is dedicated entirely to you - no waiting, no distractions. Your physiotherapist focuses completely on your recovery for the full duration of the appointment.

    Tailored to your real environment

Your physiotherapist can assess your actual home your stairs, your furniture, your routines - and give advice that makes a practical difference to your everyday life, not just your clinic results.

Does my insurance cover home physiotherapy?

In many cases, yes. UkHomePhysio is a private physiotherapy service, and we work with most major UK health insurance providers. If you have private health insurance — whether through your employer or a personal policy — your home physiotherapy sessions may be fully or significantly covered.

We accept AXA Health, Bupa, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Cigna, Simply Health, and more. Not sure if your policy applies? Call us — it takes five minutes to check and we’re happy to guide you through it. Don’t let uncertainty about cost stop you from getting the care you need.
Don’t see your insurer listed? Call us anyway — we work with more providers than we can list here, and self-pay is always available at transparent, fixed prices.

Yes — and for many people, it's more effective. You receive the same clinical expertise in an environment where you're comfortable and relaxed.
